THE BRAND
Hasu no Ie was born out of the need to promote conscious and sustainable consumption within the context of the pandemic, not only to meet the demand for protective equipment such as masks, but also for eco-friendly products, replacing single-use plastics that use high levels of chemical products in its composition that are harmful to the environment and individual health.
But along the way there was a turning point that, after 4 years of hard struggle, resulted in the surprising diagnosis of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome for me and my daughter. And this changed the entire course of not just the atelier, her projects and dreams, but her life.
As a working dentist and health professional who have always worked with prevention and health education, I could not remain indifferent to the negligence with which diseases such as EDS are treated. Especially after a long and painful journey in search of self-knowledge beyond the diagnosis. And so Shimakumas was born in Japan, where I began to share our path through this new and unknown world in the hope of finding community, greeting, information.
Today, having to redirect my life, I find in this work the possibility of reconciliation with myself, with my history and, who knows, my future.
A ARTESÃ
Sou mãe solo de uma menina, responsável pelo ateliê, dentista do Trabalho e feminista. Assim sendo, a minha luta pelos Direitos Humanos, que inclui a Saúde Coletiva e a busca pela justiça social com mais consciência ambiental, é embasada por estudos e pesquisas científicas na luta por uma sociedade mais justa por acreditar que este é o único meio possível de desenvolver um mundo mais saudável e garantir um futuro melhor para as novas gerações, para além de sua sobrevivência. Descendente de japoneses, eu ainda procuro nas origens de minha família, aliar a cultura, a técnica e a sensibilidade nipônicas para trazer beleza, significado para os meus produtos, tornando-os únicos e verdadeiras obras de arte.
Diagnosticada com a Síndrome de Ehlers-Danlos em fevereiro de 2024, eu busco hoje maior visibilidade para a causa das doenças raras e a importância de seu reconhecimento, maior investimento em pesquisas e tratamentos. E faço isso através do Shimakumas no Japão, na troca com a comunidade de sedianos e a divulgação de informações sobre a condição para aumentar a conscientização da sociedade e da classe médica sobre ela.
Mudar os rumos do ciclo de consumo é parte essencial desse sonho. Apostar em pequenos negócios cheios de propósito e valor mais do que a busca pelo lucro sem limites que devasta o planeta, promover o consumo consciente e causas importantes, dar vazão a nossa criatividade enquanto cultivo e apoio os sonhos de minha menina, dar vez e voz a quem necessita... São compromissos que assumi quando decidi criar o ateliê e fala de um lugar não apenas de não-conformismo, mas também de esperança.
